Focusing resources on our community's highest needs
In order to have a meaningful impact on our community in the areas of Income, Education and Health, we need to continually work to determine the highest priority needs in Ocean County. One of the ways that we do this is through creating a Needs Prioritization Report. This report represents the compilation of research and input from county departments and local agencies, in regards to the highest needs that they have found that residents are facing.
The dramatic changes that we have seen in the economy over the past few years have lead to an increase in Ocean County residents with unmet needs. The completed 2010 Interim Needs Assessment for Ocean County was created to examine and acknowledge the changes we have experienced as a county since our last Needs Assessment in 2007. It will be used to help us decide how to direct funding to the programs that are working to minimize the most severe gaps in the highest need areas. It is our expectation that United Way of Ocean County will use this valuable information to continue the climate of excellence envisioned by our volunteers and the community. We hope that the resulting Community Impact will be widely felt and promote long term benefits for the residents of Ocean County.
