OCEANFIRST FOUNDATION AWARDS UNITED WAY OF OCEAN COUNTY $100,000 TO SUPPORT LOCAL HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES
Thanks to a $100,000 grant from OceanFirst Foundation, United Way of Ocean County will continue its long held tradition of supporting the highest quality health and human service programs in Ocean County.
Founded in 1996, OceanFirst Foundation is the first foundation in the country established by a bank as part of an initial public offering, with a grant of $13.4 million in OceanFirst common stock. OceanFirst Foundation awards grants to local organizations, such as United Way of Ocean County, that make a difference in the lives of their customers and neighbors. Since its inception just 12 years ago, approximately $20 million in grants have been awarded to charitable organizations and schools throughout Ocean, Monmouth and Middlesex counties.
“We are extremely appreciative for OceanFirst Foundation’s continued support and commitment to United Way of Ocean County,” said Anu Gupta, Executive Director of United Way of Ocean County.
United Way of Ocean County’s portfolio of certified programs represents an investment in the community on behalf of local residents and local organizations like OceanFirst who trust United Way to be the best stewards of their donor dollars. Year after year, United Way of Ocean County shows its commitment to acheiving the highest possible return on these investments by ensuring that funded programs have a meaningful community impact in the priority need areas.
