UWOC SUPPORTS LOCAL PROGRAMS DISTRIBUTING $707,982
United Way of Ocean County is proud to announce the allocation of $707,982 to benefit 57 programs county wide. "These programs are what makes the difference to our neighbors" Anu Gupta, Executive Director of United Way of Ocean County explained, "They impact all facets of our community and the people in it. This is a testimonial of the generosity of Ocean County businesses and the community at large."
It is through the annual efforts of raising unrestricted funds that United Way of Ocean County continually provides the community with this funding resource. In addition to raising funds, United Way of Ocean County enlists the help of over two hundred civic minded volunteers. The United Way volunteers do a thorough review of program applications and decide which ones would have the maximum impact on our residents for the upcoming year. The awards range from $2,000 to $35,000 in size and will be distributed to the agencies starting late September.
United Way of Ocean County is committed to helping solve critical issues in the county. Partnering with 54 certified agencies, United Way supports programs and services addressing needs including emergency food and shelter, promoting physical, mental and emotional health, developing successful youth and enhancing the lives of seniors.
