YAP Awards to Honor

Five Young Altruistic Professionals

Who Make a Difference in Their Communities

Toms River, NJ – The United Way of Ocean County is asking the public to nominate Yappies: Young Altruistic Professionals who make a difference in their communities through volunteerism and/or philanthropy. If you know someone, who is 40 or younger, who you think should receive a YAP Award, you can nominate that person by logging on to http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/VQ8QB2P, and filling out the short survey about the nominee.

The YAP Awards event will take place on February 12, 2010, from 7pm to 10pm at Hemingway’s in Seaside Heights. Five Yappies will be honored. Tickets are $30 at the door, payable by check or cash, or in advance by calling Dyane at the United Way of Ocean County at 732-240-0311.

Along with honoring five Yappies for their contributions to their communities, the YAP Awards event will feature a raffle for a Hearts on Fire Diamond, retail value $6,000, donated by Roberta and Dave Wintrode, just in time for Valentine’s Day! Hemingway’s famous catering department will prepare delicious hors d’oeuvres and there will be an open wine and beer bar for ticket holders for the duration of the event. This event is generously sponsored by Hemingway’s, and Corinne Jewelers.
